The GreenHarvest Group is an exciting new enterprise with an urgent mission: to feed the Earth sustainably and efficiently. The Group was formed to address the social and ecological unsustainability of current agricultural and fertilization practices. We are concerned that the excessive application of Nitrogen and other chemicals to world soils in order to meet ever-increasing agricultural demands has devastating long-term implications. Unless this mold is broken, the world will face dire consequences including degraded soil health and fertility, contaminated air and water tables and, ultimately, chronic food shortages. This global crisis is widely recognized by academic and governmental institutions but the private sector has lacked the resources and incentives to respond.
